Halve Past began his journey in music at the age of 14. When discussing his start he says he always makes it a point to tell people, ”I was a rapper first and I’m still nice“. As most kids do in every hood, Halve rapped outside with his friends till the street lights came on. It wasn’t until he was 16 that he met his friend Cheddar who introduced him to the beats, and immediately Halve felt at home. Halve liked to rap, but he loved to craft beats. After a short period he realized his potential and decided that he wanted to be a producer. Inspired by Timbaland and Neptune’s, Halved wanted his sound to be completely original, when asked to describe it he replied, ”Man I can’t even attempt to try“. Listening to people like the Foreigners and the Beatles has helped Halve to spread himself musically. As a genius with samples, and a mind that never duplicates its prior footprints, Halve has no other option than to someday be garnered as one of the best. Waking up everyday with the goal of achieving greatness Halve says, ”I will be a super producer I promise you“. Backing his confidence up with his hard work, Halve says when in the studio with him he will push you as far as you can go. At the end of his career Halve wants to be able to look back and say, ”I created great music, I brought the best out of everyone I worked with, and even though I’m 85 I can still get you a hit“. Having worked with DJ Pharris, Sean Mac, J-roc of Warner brother, and various other Chi-town artists, Halves career has taken off. His words of wisdom to anyone who will take the time to listen are, ”do what you love, love what you do, and most importantly of all do you.
